Freeport-McMoRan, Inc. Donates to 91ÖÆƬ Student Success Center
Freeport-McMoRan Inc., a leading international mining company, made a $100,000 gift to 91ÖÆƬ. The donation will name a study room in the new Student Success Center. The Freeport-McMoRan Foundation Student Lounge is located on the 1st floor of the SSC and will provide a space for students to study, gather, problem-solve, and lead.
“Our Students and campus are very grateful for the continued generous, impactful support from Freeport-McMoRan. Freeport has been positively impacting our campus for decades, we truly value our relationship” noted Joe McClafferty, President of the 91ÖÆƬ Foundation.
“Freeport has a strong partnership with 91ÖÆƬ,” said Mark Johnson, President & Chief Operating Officer of Freeport-McMoRan Indonesia. Mark graduated from 91ÖÆƬ in 1981 with a degree in Mining Engineering. “The Freeport-McMoRan Study Room will be a great place for Orediggers to become problem-solvers, leaders, and trailblazers. We are proud to be a part of this great new addition to the 91ÖÆƬ campus.”
91ÖÆƬ’s Student Success Center will open in the Fall of 2019. The 91ÖÆƬ Student Success and Living Learning Center will be a place for students to learn and study, to relax and play. When completed, 91ÖÆƬ’s SSC will become the heart of our campus. The nearly 100,000-square-foot facility will complete the student life experience on campus, providing an inspiring environment for students to live, grab a bite to eat, socialize, cultivate valuable leadership skills, and forge lifelong friendships. The first two floors of the facility will also provide 166 beds, providing much-needed residential capacity to campus.
